Having learning experiences in numerous countries, I can say without hesitation that Spanish World Institute is the best. When you first enter you are greeted by the friends you have known forever, but you are meeting for the first time. They are your instructors who will lead you on voyage into a culture like no other. This is the essence of the Spanish World Institute.

I Stayed in SWI for 4 weeks, during which I took classes in Spanish Salsa. I am very pleased with both. The standard of the teaching is mostly very high and my Spanish improved explosively during this period.

I found the classes to be quite intensive and at times have found it difficult to concentrate solidly for 5 hrs a day… especially as I struggle a great deal with conjugations! As a result, Gustavo has attempted to keep the classes light and If he senses my frustration at not being able to grasp a concept, we move along to another topic or we go for a coffee or a bite to eat. Although I put up a good fight, he has managed to teach me the basics of sentence construction and how to use the conjugations given the present, past and future tense. Adriana is always smiling and has always made me feel welcome at the school. She was always willing to help me with my homestay arrangements and my travel plans around Colombia. Maria has also been great support and has gone out of her way to make me feel welcome in Bogotá. She has been a wonderful host and l appreciate the time she has taken out of her busy schedule to show me the parts of Bogota and surrounds, that tourists rarely get to see. In summary I have found SWI to be very professional, yet flexible in their teaching styles, to enable the student to meet their objectives. I know I was lucky to have the opportunity to have a one-on-one teacher for the past two weeks, as it has provided me with the basics of the Spanish language so l can begin my travels through South America with relative ease.

The location is in Chapinero Alto which is tranquil, pleasant and located close to many stores and restaurants. Many misconceptions persist about Colombia but I felt safe and the warmth and sincerity of Colombians was a revelation. The willingness to customize the course to an individuals personal Interests was vastly appreciated and the depth of knowledge and enthusiasm as displayed by my Instructors Maurizio and Leonardo was remarkable. I have been at the SWI for three weeks and had a great time. I started knowing very little Spanish but I have learnt a lot. Teachers were excellent and the lessons were organised and directed. I feel as though I can speak relatively confidently, although I feel that more time here would be necessary to be able to speak to a more conversational level. I feel that more speaking in class would be beneficial but this is the only minor complaint. Excursions were always eventful and fun. We were encouraged to speak Spanish to one another. Bogota is a fantastic city for someone to learn Spanish because it’s a great place to be and the Spanish accent is clear and easy to understand. I would recommend the SWI for anyone wanting to learn Spanish in Colombia.

Eine Woche in dieser Schule war für mich eine wunderbare Erfahrung. Gute Lehrer, die auch außerhalb des Unterrichts, in der Pause, während des Mttagessens und sogar nach der Schule Zeit für mich hatten. Vielen lieben Dank an Maria, Luz und Manuel für die spannenden Gespräche und Eure Geduld. Anfang Dezember waren nur wenige Studenten in der Schule, so dass ich quasi Privatunterricht hatte. Aber auch die Fahrradtour, Spaziergang durch die Cartagenas Altstadt und Bossa Nova Konzert waren eine schöne Gelegenheit mehr von der Stadt und Leben hier zu erfahren. Getsemaní, ein Bezirk, wo sich die Schule befindet, ist richtig lebendig und bietet mit seinen bunten Häusern, Cafés und kleinen Geschäften so viel, um das karibische Leben zu genießen.

Very nice school, good teachers, small classes and afternoon activities with locals. Also helped me with organizing my further holidays and other things like local SIM card and vaccination. You don’t do a mistake when choosing this school.

The Spanish World Institute is a fantastic school with brilliant, friendly and helpful teachers. I only had one week at the school but would have liked at least a month to really grasp the spanish language. The school is located in a great area in Bogotá. I highly recommend learning spanish at Spanish World Institute. If you can, attend at least a month long course. Maria, Alexandra and Tatiana are really lovely and are great teachers.

I’ve did a week of intensive Spanisch course as a part of “Bildungsurlaub”. I am absolutely satissfied with the Spanich classes, as well as other activities. Would definetly recommend to study Spanish there.

Great place to learn Spanish. I did the intensive course for Spanish A1 beginner with Maria and Tatiana and enjoyed every moment of it. In order to make it stick, you have to do your homework, re-write it a few times and practice the listening which is not easy for a beginner. I arrived in Bogota three weeks ago not knowing a word of Spanish and since then I have been studying at the Spanish World Institute. I cant believe how much I have learned it has been a great experience!

Spanish World Institute is the best Spanish teaching centre in Bogota. In my 7 I have learned a lot. It has a very friendly environment, and very helping staff. I would highly recomend this institute.

Very good courses, a mix of theoretical courses, practice and games, with different reachers and different teaching styles. Perfect for intensive courses and for meeting other people.

I had a wonderful experience at SWI. My grammar and speaking improved so much, thanks to my wonderful teachers. I love Bogota and really want to come back. I would recommed the school to anyone. My time here has been so enriching and the school provided activities and hel in everything that I needed. Que chevere!
